The Bishop’s Palace in Cracow is a place where the Pope
John Paul II lived before he was elected to pope in 1978. He was the Archbishop
of Cracow at that time and the Bishop’s
Palace was his residence.
Whenever he came to Cracow as the Pope, he stayed
at the Bishop’s Palace at
Franciszkańska street. Nearby, The Bishop's Palace actively work apartments Krakow. From the famous Papal Window he used to talk to pilgrims
who gathered in front of the building. After he died the square was filled with
flowers, candles and people praying for him. Inside the Palace is the
Archdiocesan Museum.
